Santa Fe
Originally founded by Spanish colonists between 1607 and 1610 on the long-abandoned site of an earlier Puebloan village, Santa Fe has developed a world-wide reputation as a center for southwestern history, for cultural diversity and the concentration of arts, music, and fine dining. Known as the “City Different”, it’s located in the northern Rio Grande valley at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the southern Rockies; at an altitude of 7,000 feet. Not only is Santa Fe the highest US state capital, but also our second oldest, and an idea location from which to experience the great American southwest and its unparalleled scenic beauty. Santa Fe’s history, culture and unique location combine to make it a great destination for travelers of all ages and interests.
